What is Really the True Real Truth?

If life was about earning and spending money, I believe we wouldn´t be where we are today, since we begun using money only a few hundred years ago in this consuming-society manners that we are.

Then what is life about?

For me life is about living, plain and simple. Beeing happy and healthy, taking care of my relationships, have the freedom to decide what I want to do in every moment, and to listen and learn from others so I can develop as a person.

Others might say the same thing, life for them is about living it. But since everyone has their own way of living every answer will be different. I would like to think that you, yourself, decide whether or not there is a meaning to your life, and what that meaning might be.

For some, religion and traditions are a very important part of life. For me, it´s not. I find some traditions amusing, but at the same time I believe it is disadvantageous to be stuck in old patterns, for the sake of human development.

A lot of traditions had a meaning in the past that they don´t have in todays society, and they can´t go back to beeing what they were, simply because we know too much about how nature and everything around us works. At Easter, for example, people used to go through all sorts of rituals and procedures, not leaving eggshells in the house and putting crosses on their front doors, to be safe when the witches came flying on Maundy Thursday. Nowadays we´re too aware of how the world around us work to still be able to think witches will come flying on broomsticks and steal our children. If a cow stops milking you call the vet, you don´t go blame the lady next door.

Whether or not we should import traditions from other countries isn´t for me to decide, or anyone else for that matter, I believe. That happens all the time anyway on it´s own accord; People move all over the world, bringing their traditions and believes with them, some stay alive and some don´t. (...The traditions and believes that is, not the people. Although same thing goes for people, some live happily, some manage to stay alive, and some get killed, but that´s a different story.)

I think the fact that people today generally are getting less religious and are dropping old traditions could possibly mean that we might be moving towards a wider, deeper and more complex way of understanding things. Something different religions has helped us with for thousands of years, before we could explain everything scientifically. Althought we´re still unable to explain everything, dispite the technologically advanced society we live in today. Maybe that´s why these questions about life still exist? Or it could simply be that there, in fact, are non.

Some years ago I stumbled upon a piece of text saying: "Listen to what everyone has to say, even fools and idiots have their story." This is something I subconsiously took to my heart and have tried to live by since. I believe that, in every story and every happening and moment you come across in life, there is always something new to learn. And also, that everyone has the right to speak and be heard, despite how silly and unreasonable their story might be. What´s right for one, might not be right for anyone else.

The world we live in today is an ever-changing, mashed and mixed up cocktail of religion, tradition and believes, which I myself think can provide great assistance in ones search for possible answers to the questions of life.

Questions ordinary people and great philosophers throughout history have tried, and failed, to find the true answer to, because there can´t be only one true answer. What´s true for one, isn´t true to anyone else - the same way that ones reality isn´t real to anyone but yourself. I, for one, is quite content knowing that there´s no way of finding true universal answers to these questions, but that doesn´t keep me from trying. The solutions and answers I find along the way will be the truth in my reality, and there is always something new to learn on the way, if you keep an open mind.

But don´t be so open-minded that your brains fall out!
